The Gocek MIB

A MIB is a "Management Information Base" that resides on a "managed node". A managed node is a device or application on a network, such as a printer, that has parameters that can be adjusted remotely through an SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) compliant application. The MIB is a file that describes the parameters that can be adjusted, as well as the meaning of the parameters. SNMP specifies that the syntax of a MIB file should use a subset of Abstract Syntax Notation One (ASN.1).

There are some standard MIBs, such as for printers and operating systems. Private enterprises may also write MIBs and management applications to support their proprietary products. MIBs are identified by a series of numbers. In the case of a private MIB or a private enterprise's extensions to a standard MIB, part of the number sequence includes the enterprise's unique identifier, assigned by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) . The enterprise number for gocek.com is 6265. Currently, gocek.com offers no products that are manageable via SNMP, so the Gocek MIB is rather boring.
